At Loch Lyme you don't have to wander far to find things to do! In addition to our Cabins, we have a number of amenities for guests:
- Beach and Waterfront
- Playground and Grounds
- Boating and Kayaking
- Walking Trails on-site, or locally
- Fishing Dock
- Clay Tennis Courts
- Wi-Fi and Internet
- Pet Friendly
Your visit with us will feel like visiting with a dear relative, maybe your grandmother, who happens to have a lovely home on a pond. These amenities are free for guest use. We welcome guests to use the common areas of the property while respecting the privacy of other guests.
Our awesome waterfront on the lake is the quintessential mountain beach with grassy lawn, sun and shade, comfortable Adirondack chairs and picnic tables. The shallow sandy bottom makes it easy for new bathers to get into the water and our floats provide swimming and sunning destinations. The boathouse is stocked with toys for toddlers to play in the sand. Our designated "dog beach" allows your buddy to cool down away from the main swimming area.
On our docks you'll find kayaks, canoes, and rowboats. The boathouse has life jackets, paddles, and oars. In the big field behind the barn you can play tetherball, volleyball, use our soccer goal, basketball hoop, and horseshoe pits or spend time creating your own frisbee golf course. Our playground equipment (swings, climbers, and a pirate ship!) and badminton court beside the Lodge allow you to keep an eye on your kids while socializing. And for rainy days (which rarely ever happen here), Playwood Cabin has ping pong, foosball, books, toys, and a movie player. (Note that there will limitations on Playwood and the Playground this summer).
The Carriage Trail loops about a mile through the woods behind the cabins for a nice jog or walk before breakfast. Longer hiking trails are close at hand: the Appalachian Trail is minutes away and other local trails offer breathtaking views of the White and Green Mountains. The trail to The Pinnacle (the top of the hill just behind the Lodge) is a vigorous walk to 360-degree jaw dropping scenery.
Guests and staff often gather (this summer safely distancing) in the (breezy open) Barn for music or informal theater presentations. Wi-Fi and Internet access is available in the Lodge, the Barn and some of the cabins. Your New York Times can be delivered to your cabin door.
