A barred own is camouflaged in the tree outside the Lodge kitchen

Wild Birds at the Lodge

We have lots of wildlife here at the Lodge. Jay took the photo above a couple weeks ago. It's a barred owl sitting in the tree right next to the Lodge kitchen door. You can see how well it's camouflaged - the coloration and patterns of the feathers blend right in. We sometimes see this owl in a field half-way to town - just sitting in a pine tree, watching for prey.

Earlier this week, we also got this picture of a bald eagle (below) next to a carcass on the pond. This photo was taken looking from the Lodge north toward the Town Beach.

We'll keep our eyes out for more great pictures.
